Karen Jurado Gomez

Hello everyone!

My name is Karen Jurado Gomez, a second-year Salvadoran American student at Regis
University. I am majoring in Health and Exercise Science with aspirations of becoming an
Occupational Therapist. I have a strong interest in specializing in pediatrics or neurology. I was
born and raised in beautiful Colorado, specifically in Basalt, a small town outside Aspen. Growing up in the mountains has fueled my passion for snowboarding, and I thrive on activities that get my adrenaline pumping. I’ve tried skydiving, zip-lining, and zip-biking, and I’m always eager to take on more adventurous challenges. I am incredibly grateful and fortunate to be part of this amazing project. The opportunity to visit Ciudad de Esperanza, connect with such wonderful, beautiful people, and serve the community is truly a privilege. I look forward to learning more about myself, and their culture, and gaining new skills that I can use to support my community and other marginalized communities in the future.
