Hello! My name is Genavieve Szumski, I am a junior in the Honors Nursing program. I was born and raised in Colorado, and being accepted to Regis University has led me to this project. Since freshman year I have been looking forward to working on this service trip. And as a junior, I’ve been able to get clinical experience that cemented my commitment to working in hospitals to serve my community. While I want to be a labor and delivery nurse, I am beyond excited to do medical surgical work in Guatemala. When you see scary things in the hospitals, you know you are meant to be there when you look forward to going back the next day. And I look forward to this trip more and more every day. I am beyond excited for this opportunity to meet and connect with these communities.
