Dr. Deb Bauer, PT, DPT

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2003 and started my career at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.  After 2 years my family moved back to Denver, CO where I continued my career as a pediatric home health therapist. Over the next decade and a half, I focused on working with children in lower socioeconomic areas. Over those years I worked in home health, camps, schools, and early intervention. I fostered relationships with others in the community to provide for the needs of my patients and their families. I also began to participate in educating future clinicians through helping in the physical therapy labs at the University of Colorado and Regis University as well as teaching the pediatric content for the PTA students at Pima Medical Institute. I have also developed student clinical rotation programs at three different home health companies with an eye toward educating future generations of physical therapists.

In 2021 Dr. Lauri offered me the chance to join the team on that year's trip to Guatemala with the Interfaith Medical Outreach Program. I have known Lauri for twenty-something years and had known about her work with this program and felt honored that she reached out to me to join them for their alumni trip. During that experience, Lauri invited me to permanently join the medical team. This program encompasses all of the qualities I hold dear: serving those that need it most, advocating for their needs, and providing the support and education to enable them to continue with their growth. I am so humbled to be a part of this great endeavor.
